![]() The newly adopted mission had a membership of nine people, and was holding regular Sunday morning Bible study and worship service, along with Wednesday night home groups. The mission met in the Holiday Inn and the Screven Baptist building for almost two years before moving to Rollings Elementary School. On January 1, 1994, ‘Crossroads Community Mission” was officially organized as “Crossroads Community Church” with a membership of eighty-eight. Through much prayer, 11 acres of land was purchased on Gahagan Road in Summerville on February 4, 1994. In the spring of 1997, construction was made on a 12,100 square foot Christian Life Center that would house worship services and other activities and ministries. In the summer of 1997, construction began on a 7,000 square foot building that would house Sunday morning Bible studies and a Christian School. Crossroads celebrated their first worship service in the new Christian Life Center in February of 1998 and moved into the Education Building in June. In November of 2000, a 4,500 square foot addition to the Education Building was completed debt free through much sacrificial giving, the help of Brotherhood builders, and volunteers from the church. Crossroads church is committed to the purpose of knowing Christ and making Him known together. |
