Kimberly White has a love for the people of Argentina, a love that God has placed on her heart and one that beckons her to return as a Campus Crusade for Christ missionary.

Having served 14 months as a student ministry intern with Campus Crusade in Buenos Aires, Kimberly left Argentina in November to come back to Summerville to solicit the prayer and financial support she needs to return. “I realize that God has completely broken my heart for the Argentines.” She describes the Argentine culture as relational, sacrificial and family-oriented, but riddled with corruption in both religion and politics.

“They have a skewed view of God due to their Catholic Church’s history and their own personal experiences. I have a desire to show the Argentines that there are such things as true justice, love, grace and forgiveness, and through Christ, we can experience all these and everlasting peace.”

Kimberly grew up in Summerville, came to faith in Christ as a 12-year-old, but endured the emotional ups and downs of youth until finally realizing “God’s unfailing love for me and how to have a more intimate relationship with Him.” She credits the Campus Crusade for Christ college ministry at the University of South Carolina for opening her eyes to the passion she has for others and the reality that many will live their lives without ever hearing about all that is theirs in Christ Jesus.

In Buenos Aires, Kimberly works with a team of six in the Campus Crusade student ministry to “win students to Christ, build them up in the faith and send them back out into the world.” Kimberly and her team spend most of their time on the public university campus engaging students in conversations about the gospel. She returns to Argentina in February and will need $265 per month for her support through November 2010. Donations can be sent online at give.ccci.org. Key KIMBERLY WHITE in the Give a Gift staff member search feature to be sure she is credited for the tax-deductible donation.

More specifically, Kimberly asks her ministry partners at Crossroads to pray that she will remain steadfast in understanding her position in Christ regardless of changing circumstances. Other prayer needs include the new men involved in their movement in Buenos Aires that they take a stand for their faith and the salvation of their peers. And pray for the safety of Kimberly’s four-girl team in the big city, and for the staff team as a whole.

“Student ministry is crucial in this society today.” Kimberly says that becoming a partner with her will serve to encourage others to focus on eternity and begin to proclaim Christ daily in their lives.
